The Gaze

THE GAZE plays with one of Hollywood’s most famous convention: objectifying women. What if the one objectified this time was a man? What if he has no way to escape that situation? Laura Mulvey’s essay “Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema” is the inspiration for this piece, but this time, the man is the one being looked at. Awarded for Best Short Narrative Film in the 2011 Little Muddy Media Arts Festival.
